Water sports, you'll find them all over the island. From kitesurfing to diving and snorkeling, it's all possible. But for surfers, the Dominican Republic is truly paradise! And at Macao Surf Camp, located near Punta Cana, you can enjoy the best waves during your visit and vacation. Are you already on your way to Macao Beach?

While surfing, you are as free as the ocean

Macao Beach, that's where you need to be

All over the island you'll find beautiful beaches, but Macao Beach, that's where you need to be. Located just under half an hour from the big hotel chains and an hour from Higuey, this is a true surfer's paradise.

But why just Macao Beach? Located on the northeastern part of the island you will find the bay. Thanks to the constant waves present on the beach, you can come and surf all year round. Of course, the strengths of the waves depend on the seasons, but with any planned vacation, you can therefore definitely pay a visit.

Now you're probably wondering when you'll find the strongest waves?

- Summer: From July to September the waves are relatively small and soft, but this is ideal for any beginner surfing. And thanks to hurricane season, you often have great swell.

- Fall: From October through early December, you have fairly low winds, but the tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean ensure that you have days with large and very powerful waves.

- Winter: From mid-December to March you will find strong waves coming from the north

- Spring: From April to early June, the strength of winter waves decreases (low pressure area subsides) and you get softer waves that are still ideal for surfing!
