Surf all year around
Although the Dominican Republic is not at the top of the list of the country with the highest waves, there is a lot of surfing. One of the most popular spots is Macao Beach. This is not only because this side of the island has the biggest waves, in fact, you can surf there year-round.
Macao Surf Camp is the best place for this. For years they have been an established fixture of the Dominican Republic and are known worldwide for their surf school. Keloke's team also took some surf lessons there, and with success! Read this article that gives you all the information about Macao Surf Camp and plan a trip soon.
Adventure on the beach
Macao Beach is not just for those who want to surf or enjoy a day of sunbathing. You can also come there to spend a few hours riding around in a baby carriage or an ATV. Perhaps the unique setting is a big reason for that: beautiful white beach and clear water. You can most easily book some tours from downtown Punta Cana or through the hotel. This includes transportation to the beach and back.
Avoid the sargassum
For several years now, several countries in the Caribbean have been plagued by an abundance of sargassum. Sargassum is a species of brown algae that becomes a real eyesore as soon as it washes ashore. It looks and smells unappetizing. But the good news is that you can avoid dealing with sargassum. Just go to Macao Beach and you won't see any of it. You can take all your favorite beach photos there.
